Yesterday, the Victoria’s Secret Angels took Paris by storm, bringing the annual parade of lingerie overseas for the first time in the brand’s history. An elite handful of the industry’s top models proved their months of rigorous Olympic-level training finally paid off, as they made their way down the catwalk in one barely there bra and panty set after the next. But if you thought their official runway ensembles were skimpy, they’re almost full-coverage in comparison to what the girls donned to celebrate all of their high-profile strutting at the show’s after party.
It may have been Bella’s first time walking in the sexiest spectacular of the season, but she looked right at home both on the runway and afterwards on the pink carpet. The theme for the post-show festivities appeared to be all sheer everything combined with lots and lots of Swarovski crystals, as the model wore a completely see-through crystallized Julien Macdonald gown with criss-cross chain straps across her bust and vaguely tiger print stripes throughout the skirt, teamed with a simple nude thong underneath. Likewise, Gigi went with something sparkly, body-hugging, and showing plenty of skin in a custom asymmetrical Atelier Versace gold chainmail gown.
Kendall broke the dress code for the evening, attending in something simple but equally boudoir-ready: a plain, white silk slip dress with a thigh-high slit, a cowl neckline, and layers of her signature accessories, chokers.
And those weren’t the only outfits the trio had planned for the evening. Monica Rose was clearly very busy making sure her girls had outfits for their after the after party dinner, where they ate burgers and mac and cheese.
Gigi recycled the custom sheer mesh Swarovski crystal Atelier Versace jumpsuit she wore to the AMAs, Bella went for a white denim mini, diamond choker and blue fur coat and Kendall went with a black crop top, jeans and a leopard topper.
Irina Shayk surprised everyone last night, walking the famed runway despite being pregnant with her first child with Bradley Cooper. Of course, the model wore something to accommodate that new baby bump, donning a loose black and white striped baby doll dress with a lace hem and detailing around the bust.
Alessandra Ambrosio and Taylor Hill, on the other hand, chose to go full glam in dramatic floor-length gowns. Taylor’s shiny metallic green dress balanced out a full skirt and trumpet sleeves with a deep-V neckline and recurring sheer panels, while Alessandra went with a very J.Lo-esque sparkly black Alessandra Rich dress with a plunging neckline cinched at her belly button and a slit to match, finished off with a bedazzled and buckled choker. This pink carpet does the raise the question, however, is there any outfit these women can’t make look good?
And finally, honorary Angel Amy Schumer showed off her runway ready looks, posing with her sister in what is surely the latest in Old Navy x Balmain fashions, captioning the high fashion shot, “nervous for the big fashion show with the Hadids and Kylie! #sohungry#loveparis #schumersisters#oldnavythreads #modelalert” Although she misidentified the supermodel of the KarJenner family, we can’t think of any comedian more deserving of her very own set of VS wings.
