The second-richest hip hop recording artist of 2018 successfully lands in the backyard of the Playboy mansion after going skydiving to celebrate turning 49 on Sunday, November 4.
P. Diddy assures he is no copycat. On Sunday, November 4, the music mogul celebrated his 49th birthday with a daredevil stunt. In a video he taped before jumping out of a plane, he explained that he had the idea way before Will Smith decided to bungee jump out of a helicopter for his 50th birthday.
Posting the video on Instagram, the second-richest hip-hop recording artist of 2018 explained, “I wanted to do this before I saw Will Smith jump out of a plane.” He went on to admit that Will’s September stunt did give him some inspiration. Still, he stressed, “Mine was already scheduled. So, Will, I don’t want you to think I’m biting.”
In the short clip, the former boyfriend of Cassie could be seen donning a NASA space suit and getting help to lace up his shoes. Of the stunt itself, he disclosed, “I always wanted to do it. No, I didn’t really always want to do it. I started thinking about it this year. I wanted to do it in Dubai. It didn’t happen, and then I said I would do it for my birthday.”
The “Coming Home” rapper proceeded to share his plan in attempting “to land two houses down in the backyard of the Playboy mansion.” In a follow-up video, he let out footage of his successful landing and the celebration that followed. “Just close your eyes and jump!!! NO FEAR!!! Thank you to my family for all the support,” he noted. “BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!”
Back in September, Will Smith also did similar stunt involving a bungee chord and a chopper. To celebrate his 50th birthday, the former “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star took a bungee jump out of a helicopter above the Grand Canyon in Arizona. “Nothing will ever be more scarier than that,” he told co-star Alfonso Ribeiro after the stunt.
