‘I was sick and I nearly died’: Emilia Clarke plays an elf who battled serious health woes in new trailer for Last Christmas with Henry Golding… after star suffered two brain aneurysms
She suffered two life-threatening brain aneurysms during her time on Game Of Thrones – one in 2011 and the other in 2013.
The trailer for the film was released on Tuesday and briefly touches upon Emilia’s character Kate’s health woes, although it doesn’t disclose what they were.

While the trailer does not disclose what health condition Emilia’s character Kate suffered from, the movie comes after Emilia suffered from two brain aneurysms in real life
In the trailer for the romantic comedy, Kate said to Tom (Golding): ‘I was really sick and I nearly died.
‘I don’t tell people because they get weird, but I don’t think you’ll get weird. I’m just scared all the time.’
Tom replied: ‘There’s no such thing as normal. It’s just, being a human being is hard.’

In May, Emilia revealed she couldn’t look at herself in a mirror after double-aneurysm brain surgery.
Speaking to Stylist, the Oxford-native said: ‘After my operations, I didn’t want to look at my own face. I don’t normally, but all my emotions were heightened.
‘When I looked in the mirror, I just saw pain in my eyes. I found it very, very difficult. I used to put on make-up without looking in the mirror, which probably made me look a lot worse.’

The actress released unseen photographs taken during her recovery from the life-threatening aneurysm she first suffered in 2011, when she was just 24 years old.
Emilia explained that when a part of your brain is starved of blood for more than a minute it dies, which is what happened to her after her second aneurysm.
Meanwhile, the movie is slated for release on November 8 and has been written by Emma Thompson, who also stars as Emilia’s mother.

Last Christmas features the music of the late George Michael and in the film, Kate makes a series of bad decisions.
She is constantly chastised at work for being lazy and not caring about her elf duties.
However, when she bumps into Tom, things appear to be too good to be true.
He manages to push through her barriers and it looks like they might end up falling in love over the festive season.
